Anger Management For Teens - Self Help Steps to Control Your Emotions

Anger is unavoidable. Feelings of anger are triggered by factors in our environment and are accompanied by certain physiological reactions. Anger management focuses on the negative expression of these feelings. When one externalizes anger, one can mistreat the world around him.

Teenagers have a unique experience with anger. Adolescence is a major growth stage emotionally, socially and physically. Teenagers go through this stage without the benefit of a fully mature brain. Thus, their understanding and ability to self-regulate their emotions is often difficult. There are, however, several ways in which teenagers can gain better control of anger management. Managing anger involves becoming aware of the physiological "signals", such as blood pressure and heart rate, before the thinking part of the brain is bypassed and the action part of the brain is engaged. Following are some of the concepts I offer teens:

  1. It takes 10 steps before you "lose" your temper. Here's an example: If I throw a ball to you, you catch it. However, if you were two-years-old, it might hit you in the face. Through trail and error, you have learned to lift your hands up, cup your hands, keep your eyes on the ball, bring your hands together at the right moment, press hard enough to keep the ball in your hands and suddenly you have caught the ball. This "catching the ball" technique took months or maybe years to master. In the same way, learning techniques to control your anger takes time to learn. Let's take a look at how we can break down the way we react in a situation to see how we might handle our anger differently: You ask your mom if you can go out while thinking to yourself: "She won't let me." You feel sick to your stomach, your heart races. You feel hot and angry and you're ready for a fight. A little too rudely, you ask your mom if you can go out. She responds to your tone of voice and says "no." You explode and scream, "I knew you were going to say that!" You go to your room and slam the door. You kick the bed and throw yourself down and think hateful thoughts. In order to begin to control your anger, you need to deconstruct your behavior and see all these "steps" you've gone through.
  2. Prevention is the best medicine. If you understand step 1 and step 2 of your angry reaction, you can prevent steps 3, 4 and 5 from happening. Awareness is the key. Catching yourself before those other steps occur takes practice (like a child learning to catch a ball). You need to find a way to prevent yourself from going too far. In our example, from the moment you thought about asking your mom for permission to go out, you felt and behaved angrily. You need an alternative plan. One alternative during the early stages of anger is to pause and tell yourself, "I've got to break this pattern. Acting this way solves nothing. I don't feel good when I get distressed. I need to calm down and then cope with what I'm feeling." How do you do that? Take a deep breath. This allows you the opportunity to plan a different conversation with your mother. Use an external "reminder" to "stop, look, and listen" to different behavioral options. For instance, wearing a certain bracelet, ring or band can be a reminder for you that you need to stop long enough to consider the outcome of the path you are on.
  3. Give yourself a break. Go outside for a bit. Take 10 deep breaths. Go to your room, lie down and listen to music. Write a page in your journal. Any of these techniques will allow you the "space" to talk yourself through the problem at hand. Like that child learning to catch the ball, it takes time to learn to control your behavior. In the event that you reach the point of losing your temper and expressing your anger, you need a plan as well. Some have found the following techniques as helpful at times like these: going for a run, punching a pillow, or throwing a ball. Screaming into your pillow can be more productive than screaming at your mother. These physical releases can produce a calmer state in which you can take a look at what led to the angry response and make a plan for the next time it happens.
  4. Finally, write yourself a letter. Tell yourself the situations that trigger your anger. Describe the first steps as you move towards an angry outburst. Then, describe alternative plans for calming yourself and dealing reasonably with your anger. Give specific behavioral options that you've learned and calm you down at that stage. Also include plans for safe releases of your anger if it goes too far. This letter should be available at all times. Your own words can be your best coach when you feel circumstances getting out of control.

Memory Cross Not the Stuffy Tracts of the Past

Lets face it: most tracts that people hand out are not even read. That may now change.

Two North Carolina pastors have found a new way to share the Christian faith with kids. Unlike the stuffy tracts of the past, these fun cards will delight kids of all ages.

Memory Cross is a four panel interactive card that is designed origami style. They unfold to reveal selected bible verses. They are targeted for children ages 4-13 and use colorful graphics to attract the attention of both children and adults.

The creator, Pastor Andy Lambert, originally intended them to be used in childrens sermons to tell bible stories. He was searching for a tool that would help capture the attention of the children and help them to memorize verses. Because he couldnt locate anything that met this need, he teamed up with another pastor and the owner of a printing business to create what are now known as Memory Cross cards.

Despite the original intention, there is yet another use. Because kids love the way the card flips around, they play with them until they have memorized Gods word. That makes it a great evangelism tool. Even timid kids will love to pass them out to their friends.

So now we have three choices. As Christians, we can do nothing; we can keep passing out tracts that people will never read; or we can find products like Memory Cross that introduce Christ to people in a fun new way.

Sheryl Frey is a Christian dedicated to helping others find great Christian products like Memory Cross to share their faith. She also organizes the Memory Cross Kids challenge. For more information please see http://www.memorycrosskidschallenge.com

Vegan Options at Some Common Restaurant Chains

Finding vegan options when eating out isn't as difficult as it used to be. Many restaurants have recognized the market for vegan food and have added products to their menus to attract this traditionally underserved customer base. If you've had difficulty finding vegan food when you eat out, that's about to change. In this tough economy, restaurants are eager to bring new customers to their establishments, and vegans are high on their radars! Here's where you can find yummy vegan food at the restaurants you know best!

Burger King--The BK Veggie--This vegetarian burger is available at nearly every Burger King. Order it without mayo to make it completely vegan.

McDonalds--TheMcVeggie. This is only available at a select few stores right now, but if you ask your local McDonalds to serve it, chances are they will seriously consider it. Get a bunch of your friends to request it, and it's a virtual shoo-in for the menu!

Denny's--Substitute a vegan Boca burger on any burger dish on the menu.

Subway--Order a veggie sub with no mayo or cheese and get it on whole wheat bread. Be aware, though, that if you're avoiding honey, Subway DOES put honey in their bread dough.

Quiznos--Order a veggie sub without the cheese.

Cheesecake factory-- Order angel hair pasta with garlic and marinara sauce, the eggplant sandwich or the portabello burger. You can also ask for other menu items without cheese to make them vegan.

PF Changs--Order the seasoned tofu lettuce wraps, spring rolls (ask for them without eggs, if possible), coconut curry vegetable plate, as well as any other purely vegetable-based dishes you see on the menu. PF Changs usually has quite a few vegan options for its customers, as do most other Asian restaurants.

The Fascinating History of Malaysian Food

Malaysia is the home of multiple ethnicities which found its roots during the colonial times where hundreds and thousands of immigrants arrived here to find an honest living in this prosperous land. The migrants mostly Chinese working in the tin mines and the Indians placed along the rubber estates brought along with them their cultures not forgetting rich culinary heritages. The cultures go along fine with their cooking where unusual traditional gathering usual accompanied by exotic mouth watering cuisine, that make up the Malaysian food recipes.

As time goes by these cooking somehow assimilated with the Malaysian local customs thus giving birth to a much more diverse and uniquely types of cooking not found anywhere else in the world, such as the famous roti canai, a kind of bread unlike any other bread is not made of yeast and has a uniquely oily textures, thanks to the acrobatic ways the dough is being flung around while in the process of making it. Other types of Malaysian foods which have its origin in India are the tasty mee Mamak and rojak Mamak. The word mamak means uncle in Tamil, so the Indian muslim community locally are referred to as mamak. The mee Mamak is different from other noodles it has thick spicy flavour thatll leave you feeling hot in a slurp, while the rojak Mamak a form of salad with the gravy made of finely pounded chilies surely will satisfied most vegetarian. The curries served in mamak restaurants are definitely Indian but yet different then those found in India. To top it all these delectable dishes are eaten with the tarik tea with milk thats hard to make, literally we need to pour the tea between two big glasses or mugs and increasing the heights by pulling the pouring glass or mug higher and higher to achieve that distinctive foamy rich flavour and also to cool it. All these Malaysian Indian cooking are not found in India itself simply because the original recipes have been Malaysianize, improvised using locally available ingredients which is much cheaper and tastier.

The same thing can be said with the Malaysian Chinese cuisine like the Yong taufu and Suun, the Chinese immigrants cant find the ingredients for their original recipes from China so they decided to replace it with cheaper alternative sources commonly found in Malaysia like the buah keluak and kayu manis. Other Malaysian local pride cooking which originated from abroad is the like of the popular laksa which can be found almost everywhere in Malaysia and even has its own sub version in laksa Johor, laksa Kedah and laksa Penang. Laksa is thick rice noodles. Laksa is served with tangy fish soup/gravy which is made from mackerel or sardine and lots of herbs and not fish at all because of the aroma of the herbs. Its a favourite with the tourists for it is not too hot and spicy flavour.

Other Malaysian gourmets particularly the rice based which is the Malaysian staple diet can be traced to our neighbouring countries such in Indonesia and Thailand like the soto
and nasi kerabu of Johor and Kelantan respectively. These cooking are being cook up with the influence of border communities centuries ago like in Golok when the people started to interact and barter together especially goods at the border town marketplaces.

The arrival of these Chinese and Indian migrants certainly spice up the Malaysian culinary scenes without them Malaysian cooking and Malaysian food recipes will not be as colourful and wonderful as theyre today. Nowadays Malaysian foods are a bigger attraction to the tourists just like the KLCC and the KL Tower. When they say Malaysia boasts of its rich cultural melting pot, the tourists must have meant plenty of Malaysian foods in the pots for the picking. Once the foreigners colonized our country now we managed to get back at them and colonize them at least their taste buds with our hot and spicy Malaysianize cooking which they fall deadly in love.

The Demise of the Tomato

What happened to the good ole days of a tomato? What I mean is this, have you gone to the grocery store to buy a tomato lately? It is a crying shame to the consumer but a shot in the profit margins for the business owner. Think about this, because of the change in economy and the way fruits and vegetables are shipped all over the planet, tomatoes are now picked green and left to ripen on the way to your house. I have to object long and loud on this one and here is why. When I was young I worked on a vegetable farm, and we picked the tomatoes when they were ripe, and then they went to market. It was a simple concept, let them grow, pick when ready.

So why should this bug me? Well first of all, a tomato that is vine ripened tastes incredible. It's a cornucopia of flavor that can win your heart for fall tomatoes and olive oil. In the past, stores had different types of tomatoes but they all looked pretty good. If you went to the farmers stand on the corner in the country, you could get even nicer tomatoes. Now we are stuck with this pasty tasteless derivative of an old favorite. The funny part is, you can now choose to buy the premium vine ripe tomatoes for twice the price, if you want some flavor. These are the same tomatoes that used to be available all the time.

Restaurant owners

I really feel sorry for a chef. Not the cooks you find in some chain restaurant, but a real chef who insists on great ingredients and knows what flavor really is. There was incredible deli that I use to walk into to get their tomato and basil sandwiches. The Italian owner was a genius. He knew what made a tomato great and he knew what made a tomato taste better. The first thing you would do is ask "hey Lou, how the tomatoes look today?" He would smile and tell you to buy something else if they did not look like they should. So how is guy like Lou going to make a name for himself if the basic lifeline of an Italian chef is victim to mass production? My hat is off to you if you can find a way to make a decent red sauce without the can. (that's another story too)

Old School

My grandpa was the chief tomato grower in our family. He would grow like a zillion plants and in the fall we would have to give them away because we had so many. But he could tell you when to pick it and how to pick it and what would taste good with it. Unfortunately his English was horrible and he did not have any teeth, but he knew how to cook. I would think he would have a real problem with the grocery stores of today.

Alternative

Our only chance left is the old fashioned fruit stands of yesteryear. But even those great little businesses understand it's about moving volume. Volume does not taste good to me. Of course you could grow your own garden and then your problems are solved. Now if you do, it really comes down to a matter of dirt. Some states have better dirt for growing than others. My favorites are Michigan, Pennsylvania and New Jersey for a good beefsteak. Anyone trying to grow a tomato in Florida should be flogged for ignorance, the dirt just ain't right. (neither is the water, but that is another story)

So what's a guy with some decent basil, some good olive oil, just the right amount of onions, and garlic supposed to do? It's getting pretty hard to explain to your boss why you need a couple of weeks off in the fall to go and eat some decent sauce.

A Spiritual Check-up

Now is a great time for a self check-up. The new year is here and you have probably renewed your resolutions from last year. Why settle for failed resolutions again when you can have guaranteed results. The results I'm talking about are the ones that will take you to the next level of performance, promise and purpose.

Not another year of disappointment, defeat and disillusionment.

This is not a physical or mental check-up, it is a check of your spiritual man to make sure that you are prospering eternally and externally in accordance to the promises and purpose of God.

Let's begin our spiritual check up by inspecting our fruit, this will be a major indicator of what is going great and where we need to change.

Then we'll look at how we can increase our efforts to get even better results throughout the year. Followed by identifying strategies to increase our fortitude, the inner strength we'll need to complete the journey we have before us.

God has assembled each of us here for his purpose and cause, in this specific time period and particular place. This cause is bigger than just your needs.

We should be sharing/sowing fruit daily, spurring each other towards love and good deeds. Some of our fruit are peace, love and forgiveness. The areas of life that we are responsible for sharing and showing others.

These are the tools that we have at our disposal to build bridges from us to other people so that God can come across.

If you harbor prejudice, hatred or have not forgiven someone then you are unable to bear fruit and you stand where you are today, because you have failed to fulfill your spiritual purpose and you should take a deeper look inside yourself, to determine why you are not progressing in this important area of life.

Having a brilliant career and a great personal life will seem unimportant if they are centered around emotional indulgence instead of spiritual progress.

How can one change their spiritual condition or situation?

First, let me warn you, that you can't reach any level of true spirituality without obeying the first tenet, which requires that you must be born again. Not just a mere spring cleaning but a rebuilding of the whole house.

Then it takes consistent and regular habits of prayer and meditation. I'm not talking about the habit that some have become accustomed too of pronouncing affirmations once or twice as if they were a magical incantation.

Could you practice on the piano occasionally and yet expect to be able to play well on any desired occasion?

To strengthen your spirit you need to build up a faithful daily habit of prayer and begin exercising a true love-consciousness, then the rest of the spiritual development will follow after that.

Some people pray only when they are in trouble or on their Sabbath and then, they find it hard to get any sort of meaningful results. Maybe you have heard the old adage, " little prayer, little power; much prayer, much power."

Sooner or later, through trouble or triumph, you will find the need to put God first in your life, but it must be the first thing. When this happens you will find that you have gotten rid of the mental junk that people try to carry around with them.

You'll spend less time pursuing material possessions and stuff, our artificial needs, things that don't really matter and only waste time and energy. Your life will become simpler and quieter, but spiritually richer and infinitely more worthwhile.

New Thinking About Noah's Ark and Family

Dealing With Macho Mentality

Forgive Everyone in Every Way

Forgive everyone, everyday, and in every way. Each person is doing the best he or she can. No one, absolutely no one is perfect. Since no one is perfect, this means that we all need to share more patience and more understanding surrounding all aspects of our interactions with one another. Think of the last time you needed to forgive someone. And, think of the last time you needed to be forgiven. When we need to be forgiven, there is a feeling of lack or something as missing. When we need to forgive, we often feel anger. Anger is a secondary emotion for loss. When we lose something, the need to restore what was lost. This sends us on a search within ourselves for attention in a peace filled direction. If you noticed, to forgive or to be forgiven leads you to the same place. Both paths of awareness lead us on a search. What are you searching for? You are searching to find wholeness. What is wholeness? This is often one's perception of reality created by what one believes to be true. This creation of what one believes to be true is the path of one's soul seeking manifestation in the world of form from the formless.

There is no set way to wholeness. Simply being aware that you have a self-defined understanding of wholeness that is within you is what we simply need to give attention to within us. This continued attention on what we seek the most within us will grow in our awareness until the need to place our attention on forgiveness fades away.

If a person was to believe that forgiveness is something obtained through the human psyche alone, we all would find the journey into such a place within us as something to avoid. In the deepest parts of who we are, we want to connect to what is sacred within us. Therefore, to re-create a past interaction with someone who we feel we harmed or who we feel harmed us is a useless attempt to embrace what cannot be. This is not to say that certain relationships close to us do not need verbal efforts to make up for a past action leading to harm. In fact, a person can find this useful, and even, helpful. The point I want to make is the place one's attention may be at the time such a verbal interaction will become vital in the success of such expressions taking place.

Dying patients remind me that there are countless times in all our lives where the issue of forgiveness was perceived and we become aware of it. There is no way a dying person can retrieve all their past life experiences in physical form, but we can recall these moments in time and visualize how we would have handled them differently. This is our soul seeking to make right a wrong our personality may not allow us to do, or it may no longer be feasible to take place in our current circumstances. People are such a vast array of experiences. There are endless paths of attention within us calling for our attention. Perhaps, the instant we remember who we are and who others are in the deepest parts of our being, we begin to remember the love that brings all our lives together, and into, being. This remembrance of who we are as children of our Creator reminds us of the unconditional spirit reflected within our own selves. The transcendence of flesh and blood inspires us to give our Creator our lives, the lives of others, and our very reason for living into the hands that created us.

You Don't Become a Wicca, You Either Are Or Are Not

There is a major growth in today's society for older religions, this includes people who want to become a Wicca. First of all, people need to understand that you do not become a Wicca, no more than you become a doctor and an engineer. Sure, there are signs of progress, and as a doctor or an engineer you get a piece of paper, however, that doesn't make you a doctor or an engineer.

As I said you do not become a Wicca. I am sure this raises some degree of curiosity and confusion. If I don't become a Wicca, then why do people call themselves such? See, it's not about becoming as much as it's about being. You don't become a Wicca, you are one.

I learned this a long time ago when I was studying the martial art of Ninjutsu, and it carried over as I began practicing witchcraft. As I gained belt after belt, I wondered at what point I would be a ninja. I couldn't wait to tell people I was a ninja. Once I earned my black belt, I wondered if I was now a ninja. I asked my teacher and his only response was, "you will know."

Eventually I came to understand that I can't become a ninja. It is something I am or am not. It wasn't about becoming, it was about being a ninja. The same is true when talking about how to become a Wicca. I now live, day to day, the way of the ninja. I use the philosophy and strategies I learned as I trained to live my life on a daily basis. The same is true for my spiritual practices.

You see, you didn't become anything, I either was or wasn't. I either lived as one, walked as one, talked as one, made decisions as one based on what I had learned, or I didn't. Learn, study, and apply what you learn as you grow, and you will be a Wicca. Then there will be no need to become a Wicca.

Are you ready to become the most powerful witch you can? Do you want to learn what it means to be a witch, and how to create your own spells at the drop of a dime? Do you want more free spells and the best resource for ancient witchcraft and Wiccan knowledge? Then Click Here Now to learn how! Don't forget to sign up for your completely free spells!

The Nephilim and the Roots of Civilization

We often take the roots of Western Civilization for granted. Yes, we are taught by convention that such roots find a strong hold in Mesopotamia around 3500 B.C. But, have you ever stopped to ask yourself how deep those roots go, and better yet, "who planted the tree?"

It is very likely that the key to understanding the founding of the world's great cities and civilizations rests on a fundamental understanding of giants, or as the Bible calls them, Nephilim. These creatures were the offspring of fallen angels and human females, and according to scripture, contributed to the very downfall of antediluvian society (Genesis 6). Some of them, it would seem, even survived the great deluge, cropping up in later millennia under various other names, such as the Old Testament's Rephaim and Anakim. The perseverance of their race could account for many of the world's great cities or monuments. If we broaden the Biblical interpretation of this colossal line of creatures to include world mythology, then possibilities emerge after the most cursory of glances at man's religions.

In extrabiblical sources, such as The Book of Enoch, one can find the very work of transforming hunter-gatherers into a more sophisticated society. The fallen angels waste no time in developing a scheme to influence man for their own ends. We are told that under the guidance of their leader Semyaza, the fallen angels trade knowledge and technology for access to human females for the purposes of breeding offspring. To the great misfortune of mankind, civilization was a high price to pay for what would soon become oppression and violence. At any rate, the fallen angels along with the Nephilim taught men metallurgy, war craft, farming, husbandry, and a host of other bodies of knowledge defining civilizations.

The great Mesopotamian hunter and king, Nimrod, is often regarded as a giant. We read clearly in Genesis of his renown, no doubt contributing to the memories preserved by Abraham, himself born of Sumeria. Consequently, Nimrod is also credited with having built the Tower of Babel, preserved to us in image as a ziggurat, one of the stepped temples of ancient Mesopotamian society. The very Cradle of Civilization provides an early example civilization and its connection to the giants of old.

Egypt, whose legends whisper to us in the present, was most likely not without its own giant origins. At least as much may be said about its monuments, and in particular the pyramids. Some scholars who entertain historical ideas outside of convention, such as Patrick Heron, posit that the antediluvian giants constructed the pyramids. This design spread with them as they spread to other lands east and west of the Holy Land.

In the Old Testament, we get a picture of the descendants of these giants. You may recall from Sunday School that the spies Moses sent into Canaan on the eve of its conquest were all terrified save Joshua and Caleb. They related that they were as "grasshoppers" compared to these enormous men. Jewish tradition tells us that one giant, Arba, built the great fortified city of Hebron. Another giant, Og, who allegedly had survived the great flood, ruled over Bashan, a vast kingdom northeast of the Sea of Galilee.

Moving away from the Near East leaves one with no fewer examples of giant-founded societies. Most of us remember to some extent the myths we were taught in grade school about the Greeks and the Romans. Scholars have long been aware of the influence of the Near East on Greek ideas and religion. Similar residues may be found in the pottery and art of ancient Greece, an indicator of trade with Phoenicians and other peoples of the Near East, and something known to scholars as "orientalizing." The very gods were all believed to hail from Mesopotamia, Anatolia, Egypt, and other lands to the east. As for feats of city-building, Poseidon and Apollo were believed to have built the great walls of Troy. The Greeks also contended that the Cyclopian giants had built the city of Mycenae.

In the case of the Romans, we learned that the twins Romulus and Remus, descendants of the great Trojan refugee Aeneas, founded Rome. For obvious reasons, teachers leave out the gory details which Roman historian Livy relates to us. Mars, god of war, raped the Vestal Virgin Rhea Sylvia, and the products of this violation were Romulus and Remus. The twins, as with other children sired by gods, were of great stature. Somewhere between myth and history, we learn that Romulus built the city of Rome in the eighth century AD, promptly after killing his brother. The conditions of their conception, their size, and their violence all smack of traits borne by the Nephilim.

Even beyond the scope of Western Civilization proper, evidence of giant engineering abounds, as do the legends pertaining to such structures. German mythology relates to us that the walls of Asgard were built by a frost giant to separate the realm of the gods from that of the giants, known as Niflheim (which is phonetically similar to Nephilim). Mesoamericans, likewise had firm ideas about the origins of their civilization and giants. The Maya believed their civilization to have been founded by giants. The Aztecs too, believed their cities and their society had been established by giants and gods. The great monuments of Machu Pichu, the earthen tombs of China, Angkor Wat, the great earthen pyramid of the ancient Indian city of Cahokia-they all speak to engineering feats that defy foundations in human sweat and toil alone.

If you look, you can see that our civilization bears the touch of humanity. A closer look still, reveals the possibility of deeper roots and gigantic origins. The next time you look at the photo album from your Egypt trip, watch a documentary on Mesopotamia, or thumb through that humanities text you just couldn't throw away, pause. Pause and ask yourself "what does the evidence say, and who founded these societies?" You just may find the maker's mark of the Nephilim in subtle imprint.

My Walk With Farrakhan - The Reality of the Million Man March

"Call to the way of thy Lord

with wisdom and goodly exhortation,

and argue with them in the best manner."

Continuing on in the series, My walk with Farrakhan, we will examine the Million Man March on October 16th, 1995 called by God through The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.

It is amazing to think that 12 years have passed since that beautiful day on the Washington mall with nearly 2 million black men congregating in love. From that day until this day many have not understood the purpose for the march nor its goal by the author. Who was the ultimate author of the Million Man March and for what cause?

Minister Farrakhan while speaking to the gathered men reminded them,

"You came not at the call of Louis Farrakhan, but you have gathered here at the call of God. For it is only the call of Almighty God, no matter through whom that call came, that could generate this kind of outpouring. God called us here to this place. At this time. For a very specific reason."

Minister Farrakhan said that he called for the "march" in response to the pitiful global image of black men as portrayed in film, music and the some media. He further stated that he wanted to show an example to the world that black men can and must unite together in love and harmony to affect positive change in our communities.

The call of the Million Man March is rooted in biblical tradition of Jesus calling Lazarus from the grave. However, today a modern day man of God is calling a people, not from a physical grave of death, but from a spiritual-mental grave of death and ignorance.

Let us review John 11: 43-44 for clarity

"And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, loose him, and let him go."

The Holy Qur'an bears witness in similar words

"We have revealed to thee that

thou mayest bring forth men, by their

Lord's permission, from darkness

into light, to the way of the Mighty, the Praised One,"

When you look at the black community then as well as now it becomes clear that we are in need of a healing and resurrection of our minds.

My condition at the time of the Million Man March

At the time of the call of the Million Man March my life was similar to the life you see many young black men participating in. I walked with my pants hanging of my behind(sagging). I didn't attend school much and didn't take authority serious. I spent my nights getting drunk and/or high with drugs. I thought I was living the good life in my downgraded life of sin. I didn't know at the time, but Almighty God was preparing me for bigger and better things.

I was told by my mother, who was fed up with my behavior, she was requiring me to stay home and watch the Million Man March. She told me that since I can't do anything with you maybe Farrakhan can put some sense in your head.

I sat at home watching the many men and speakers on that blessed day on October16th, 1995 and was being transformed on the inside by Almighty God's spirit. However, when I heard Minister Farrakhan speak I received a message, not so much in words, but I felt him speaking directly from his spirit to my spirit. I took the pledge of the Million Man March and decided to begin the journey towards elevation.

The pledge of The Million Man March asked(by Minister Farrakhan) encouraged us to do the following things,

"Take this pledge with me. Say with me please, I, say your name, pledge that from this day forward I will strive to love my brother as I love myself.

I, say your name, from this day forward will strive to improve myself spiritually, morally, mentally, socially, politically, and economically for the benefit of myself, my family, and my people.

I, say your name, pledge that I will strive to build business, build houses, build hospitals, build factories, and then to enter international trade for the good of myself, my family, and my people.

I, say your name, pledge that from this day forward I will never raise my hand with a knife or a gun to beat, cut, or shoot any member of my family or any human being, except in self-defense.

I, say your name, pledge from this day forward I will never abuse my wife by striking here, disrespecting her for she is the mother of my children and the producer of my future.

I, say your name, pledge that from this day forward I will never engage in the abuse of children, little boys, or little girls for sexual gratification. But I will let them grow in peace to be strong men and women for the future of our people.

I, say your name, will never again use the B word to describe my female, but particularly my own Black sister.

I, say your name, pledge from this day forward that I will not poison my body with drugs or that which is destructive to my health and my well being.

I, say your name, pledge from this day forward, I will support Black newspapers, Black radio, Black television. I will support Black artists, who clean up their acts to show respect for themselves and respect for their people, and respect for the ears of the human family.

I, say your name, will do all of this so help me God."

I know where I came from and where I was inspired to go as a direct result of the call of the Million Man March. I will never let anyone disrespect that day by saying it didn't achieve anything. I was a man that was lost, but was inspired to be a better person by the truth and presence of Minister Farrakhan at the Million Man March.

I like to use the example of a patient going to a doctor as an example of the Million Man March. You can't blame a doctor if you are sick and you go to a doctor to heal you and the doctor prescribes you a prescription, however you never go home and take the prescription, so you die. Such a doctor cannot be charged with malpractice. It is the responsibility of both the doctor to prescribe and the patient to take the medicine to affect healing.

In conclusion what medicine did "doctor" Farrakhan give to black men at the Million Man March?

In the following words he gave the ultimate medicine and purpose for our presence at the "march",

"Well, some of us are here because it's history making. Some of us are here because it's a march through which we can express anger and rage with America for what she has and is doing to us. So, we're here for many reasons but the basic reason while this was called was for atonement and reconciliation. So, it is necessary for me in as short of time as possible to give as full an explanation of atonement as possible."

He gave us the following summation of 8 steps of atonement

1) Point out the wrong

2)Acknowledge the wrong

3)Confess fault

4)Repentance

5)Atonement

6)Forgiveness

7)Reconciliation and restoration

8)Perfect union with God

Long live the spirit of the Million Man March!

What if We Ask an Artificially Intelligent Computer to Create a Religion for Mankind?

So many humans find fault with their religion or other peoples chosen religion? Wars are often fought over nothing more than religion. Silly culture wars over religious tradition and perception often arguing over what is morally right to think, say eat, wear, believe or do. Yes human wars are fought over many things, but what if we prevented religious wars?

For the sake of philosophical argument; What if We Ask an Artificial Intelligent Computer to Create a Religion for Mankind? How could this be done you ask? Oh so now you are intrigued by the latest philosophical conversation at the Online Think Tank are you?

Well first so many religions have contradictions in them. For instance live a life of peace but join in battle against an enemy? All religions have at least some contradictions, perhaps they are not so well thought out? In the future Artificial Intelligent Computers will surpass human thinking and reasoning skills, could we then ask our AI computer to design us a religion everyone could get along with and adopt Planet Wide?

There are endless contradictions in the Bible I agree and it is too bad they did not use the Future; Microsoft Professional MS Word 55.0 (with Contradiction Checker and other AI features). But alas they were merely men trying to write the best air-tight case they could to enslave the minds of the masses for control. I'd say they did an excellent job, the trickery verbiage has worked for some 2000 years and from what I see here appears to be going strong still today.

Isnt it time to use technology to upgrade human religion? After all soon man will become God and create artificial intelligence that will surpass him. I certainly hope this article is of interest and that is has propelled thought. The goal is simple; to help you in your quest to be the best in 2007. Four Guidelines For Buying Proficient Appliance Brands That Save Money

It is as important to use electricity wisely. It can save you a lot of money and help you do your part in saving the environment. Solar power kits and wind electricity generation can greatly reduce your electric bill, but In the meantime, there are efficient appliance brands and models out there that can help you do all this if you only know what to look for.

Read the label.

Before you buy an appliance you need to look for its Energy Guide label. You'll see this as a piece of black and yellow paper hanging on the appliance unit. It is required by the Federal Trade Commission for firms to place these labels on every appliance they make. In this label, you'll see the appliance's energy efficiency rating, an estimate of its energy consumption per year and a comparable range of energy consumption and efficiency with other appliances. Through this you'll have an idea of how much energy the unit will consume. You only need to compare the labels of different appliance brands so you'll know which one is more efficient and you should buy.

Search for the EnergyStar.

This logo indicates that the appliance unit is superior in terms of energy efficiency than another unit that doesn't have the EnergyStar logo. If an appliance has the EnergyStar logo it means that it has been tested and passed the standards set by the federal government for energy efficiency by at least 20% to as much as 110%. This means that any appliance brand you buy with the EnergyStar is accepted by the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency.

Size matters.

Frequently bigger is not superior when it comes to buying appliances. For example a small room doesn't call for air conditioning with 4.0 horsepower. Yes, the room is cooled but there is too much unnecessary energy consumption.

Always make certain whether you can opt to buying smaller counterparts of appliance units for the size of your room. More often than not, bigger appliances, regardless of its energy-efficiency, consume more energy than smaller ones.

Mind the numbers.

When it comes to numbers you don't always go for the low ones. Numbers could stand for the expenditure per kilowatt-hours of an appliance unit and you certainly want the lower ones. This is true for refrigerators. For heat pumps, in contrast prefer a higher Heating Seasonal Performance Factor. And for dishwashers always make certain to get the one with the higher energy factor.

Is your budget being zapped by electric bills? Fight back by reducing your costs with DIY solar power kits It's easier and cheaper than you might think.

Insulate Hot Water Pipes and Save Energy

As the world moves deeper into recession, people are looking for ways to cut their everyday living expenses. One of the major expenses in every household is that of energy consumption. With all the appliances and gadgets men have made, we tend to use, misuse and waste a good deal of energy. One easy way to save energy and to cut some of your bills is by keeping water hot inside the pipes for longer durations in winter. Insulating water pipes is the easiest way to achieve this cut in energy.

First of all, measure the dimensions of the water pipes you want to insulate. You should note the measurements somewhere so that you won't forget them, especially the outer diameter associated with each pipe. Make sure that there are no leakages in the pipes. If you find any leakage point, get that fixed before continuing with the insulation.

Once you have checked all pipes and taken measurements, you need to decide which type of insulation you should use. Whatever insulation that you select, ensure you cover as much area as you can so that the heat that escapes is kept to a minimum. The most common material used in this regard is pre-formed molded insulation foam. Because of being common, you can easily get it for most sizes and lengths, and separate small pieces are available for spigots. In order to get the best installation, ensure that the inner diameter of the foam is about equal or only slightly larger than the outer diameter of the pipes. This will form a closure and so cool air will not be stuck between the pipelines and insulation.

Upon acquiring the necessary materials, use a mild cleaning agent to remove any soot from the pipes. Also make sure there isn't any oil or other dampness on the outer surface as this hinders with the installment of insulation material. After the pipes become dry, wrap the foam around it carefully without leaving any part of the pipe uncovered. Additionally, when attaching 2 molded foams at bends, it is a good idea to sever the foam at forty-five degree angles, such that they enclose the whole bend and don't leave any space uncovered. Once you have successfully put it on the pipes, wrap some acrylic tape around it to ensure greater efficiency. You could also try using duct tape, though some plumbing experts prefer to employ acrylic tape. You can also use a wire or clamp rather than tape.

If you are living in a place where pipe freezing occurs frequently, it's highly recommended to insulate you water pipes even if you have to hire a plumber for this. That's because water expands when it freezes, and this can cause even durable pipes to break. Pipes most vulnerable to breakage are those situated outside the house like the swimming pool line. In the cold months, it is beneficial to empty water from the line and turn off the valve to halt additional water flow. If you find a pipe that is frozen, do not use naked fire to try to heat it up. The best thing would be to call a licensed plumber to be on the safe side.

Generate Your Own Solar and Wind Power and Reduce Your Utilities Bill, Even by Up to 80%

With steadily increasing energy prices and a desire for more environmentally friendly living, wind generated power is becoming more and more popular. Large wind farms are being built in locations around the country, and individual property owners are building their own smaller turbines. While wind generated power won't be enough to supply all of your energy needs, if you want to build your own it will most certainly reduce your electric bill. A wind turbine also makes a great supplement to an already existing solar or water power generator.

Building a wind turbine on your property is not difficult, but you'll need some tools, some basic knowledge of electrical systems, and a willingness to do it right. Before beginning a turbine project you should check with your local municipality to see if turbines are regulated in your area. Once that hurdle is cleared, you can begin the design phase, assemble the parts, and begin building.

The standard wind turbine can be broken down into six basic components: the generator, blades, tail assembly, pivoting mount, mast, batteries, and load controller. For small DIY projects, a generator can be a simple motor from an old tape deck, kitchen blender, or any scrap appliance you have laying around. The key to the generator is to find a motor that gives the most volts at the lowest RPM. Normal winds are in the range of 15-20 mph, so on average your turbine won't be turning 7200 RPM all that often.

Blades can be made of wood, PVC, plastic, whatever you can get your hands on. You'll need some scrap wood for the tail, conduit or steel piping for the mast, some deep cycle batteries, and some common electrical components for the controller. Parts lists and assembly instructions can be found all over the internet. A few hours of research should yield just about all the information you need. If you're not confident enough to build from scratch, you can also purchase a kit which just requires assembly.

Once your turbine is up an running you'll be spending less money with the local electric utility, and producing power without pollution. Those are two pretty good reasons to go wind powered.

Wind Generated Power - An Alternate Source of Energy That Helps Save Your Money and the Earth

Wind generated power is being used from ages past. In the past it was used in flour mills and even to pump water. But we have realized the power that wind has in it and it is this power that can be used as an alternative source for electricity. With the depleting levels of fossil fuels and the increasing rates for electricity it is high time we decide on using such alternative forms of energy.

Not only are we going to save money, but we are saving the earth too. With nuclear energy being used as one of the sources for energy, the carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere is growing to such high levels that the issue of global warming is catching everybody's attention. Is there a solution to all these problems? Well, the use of renewable sources of energy like the sun light, the wind generated power etc are sure fire solutions that do work.

If you want to install such a unit for wind generated power and if you find the rates of installing one, you will sure find atrocious prices. The best way to go about this is to use the resources that are easily available in our homes and even in the nearby hardware stores and construct our own wind mill that results in wind generated power.

All you need to set up the instrument that gives you wind generated power is an installation guide and the right components. The most important consideration for this is the location where you will be building this. You need to make sure that the area has a free flowing current of wind most of the time. Selection of such areas will make sure that you have an efficient system that produces wind generated power to the maximum.

You can look up Earth4Energy for more details about wind generated power. The guide that is available is a storehouse of information that will guide you in the right manner to enable you to set up your system.

Home Solar Panels - How You Can Make Huge Savings on Your Electric Bill and the Earth

The history of solar energy history extends much further back then you might think! At present, solar panel energy is fast becoming a serious consideration for home energy, and will continue to be more so in the future too. There have been many other steps, taken in the past, that have led us to this point in solar energy history. It is now not at all uncommon to see an entire roof paneled with photovoltaic cells. Today, enormous power plants are constructed entirely of soar collectors. The home solar panels are used for cooking, heating and best of all, for saving electricity. The actual development began in the year 1800's, when a French physicist observed that there were photoelectric cells from the sun. That is how; the concept of solar panel energy came into operation. The homes utilizing this energy are the ones making huge savings on their energy bills as well as doing their part in saving the Earth.

Using solar energy has been around since life began. We need the sun to survive. It was the energy crisis in the 1970's that led us to pursue solar panel technology. Previous to this, solar panels were found on large scale projects as opposed to today where they are becoming increasingly common in the home. Over the years, the term solar panel energy has been bounced around the news and as a topic promoting ways to save money. The best part is that it completely clean and a renewable source. In fact, the government is giving away rewards to those citizens as well as incentives, which are using alternative energy sources to power their homes. You can build your own system for under $200.

When you choose to be among the people, who are using solar panel to obtain their energy, then you will be helping the environment, and your wallet, in infinite ways. The amount of power, coming off the sun is so intense, and there is enough electromagnetic energy for everyone!

Check out more information on how home solar panels can help you make massive savings on your electric bill, and how you can start making your own home solar panel system for under $200!

Heating Systems and Pink Elephants

If someone says, "Don't think of pink elephants," what is the first image that pops into your mind? Right, a pink elephant... Likewise, if your home heating system is not keeping you warm this winter, or it is only keeping you warm at the cost of unmanageable utility bills, the problem will be present in your awareness no matter how much you try to rationalize it away. You can tell yourself that next month's bills will not be as bad, or that it's not going to be as cold. If you are running space heaters, or trying to keep the house warm with a fireplace or oven, then you are only compounding the problem. There is no need to go another year or another month without an energy efficient central heating system for your home.

If your house is old enough, it might have one of those ancient floor furnaces. And it might even do a good job of keeping your home warm... but at what cost? Not only are natural gas prices high, but those old systems can be a risk for producing lethal levels of carbon monoxide gas. If you have done a good job of weather proofing an older house with one of those floor furnaces, you have just made it even easier for carbon monoxide levels to build to dangerous levels. Now, there is a pink elephant for you!

For maximum comfort, economy, and safety, you will most likely find that a new central heating system will provide you with the optimum solution for your home. Because of the incentive to reduce the cost of energy use, the home heating industry has been highly focused on producing energy efficient products for homes and businesses. The U.S. Government has also made it easier to upgrade to more energy efficient systems by offering tax breaks to home owners who have qualified systems installed. And, because there are very definite financial advantages to upgrading home heating systems, finance companies have made it easy to obtain loans to purchase and install them.

This triple bonus of savings in utility cost, improved home value, and potential tax savings should be enough to make short work of that elephant in your living room. But if that is not enough, also consider the improved comfort and safety that a new central heating system could provide for you and those dear to you.

Thinking about the solution does not make the problem go away, however. Give a call to your local heating system dealer to see what solutions they have to offer you. You will find that they will already have relationships with lenders if you need help paying for your new system, and in many cases you may be able to pay for the system over the course of twelve months with no interest. You will be happy to find experts that know exactly the kind of help you need, and banish that elephant from your awareness for good.

Wind Turbines For Home Use - Can You Really Save Money?

Green energy is the first preference of many individuals from all across the globe. In fact the power of wind can be a great source of green energy generation and it turns out to be pretty cost-effective as well. You need not pay the hefty electricity bills for the black energy supplied by the distributors. With the wind turbines for home use you can generate the required amount of power at home and reduce the annual electric expenditure by a few thousand dollars. You just need a tower to install the turbine and the area should have wind-blowing speed of 10 Kmph. As you switch over to wind energy, you would also be saving the atmosphere from 200 tons of harmful green house gases every year, which is definitely a remarkable reduction in air-pollution.

Some people feel that the wind turbines for home use will exert much noise and create sound pollution which is not true at all. The small and compact wind turbines for home use will make little noise which is ignorable but will defnitely not wake up the neighbours from their sleep. In fact there is another misconception that they will hamper the television signals but it is in no way a proven fact. They are available for around $6000 but the price will vary according to the features and size of the home wind turbine. You will be saving some money on your utility bills which will round up to a substantial amount yearly. If the turbine is producing more energy than you require then you can also sell the excess to others to pocket a substantial amount.

In short, you are not only taking an initiative towards a pollution free environment but also helping in restoration and savings of the natural resources like petroleum and coal.

Hotels, Motels Green Bathroom Remodeling Nationwide

Hotels/motels that remodel their bathrooms by going green are following the hotel industry's move towards environmental sustainability. Hotels/Motels therefore, have understood that going green means replacing fixtures with water or energy saving appliances. What many hotels and motels owners are beginning to learn is that going green in their bathroom remodeling project, includes refinishing, recycling and the use of recycled materials.

Hotels/Motels green remodeling has other benefits or advantages apart from saving money. Investors that are looking to buy a chain of hotels or motels or even those looking to buy a single hotel or motel are definitely looking to buy ones that have efficient fixtures and appliances installed in their bathrooms.

Hotels and Motels use of resources

Hotels and motels are in general bigger than average buildings and the use a lot of resources. It takes a lot of resources to build hotels and an equally bigger and constant resources to maintain - heating and cooling, use of lots of water. No hotels can function without water. Hotels need water for laundry, for showering in the bathrooms, flushing the toilets, washing your hands, and then dishwashing. That is why any hotel that considers bathroom remodeling, thinks about green bathroom remodeling and it's advantage of saving water.

Additionally, the hotel industry use a lot of energy. The annual energy bill for the hospitality industry is $3.7 billion a year on energy. Energy savings alone is driving a lot of hotels to green bathroom remodeling. They see the benefits and embrace the advantages of water and energy savings they get from when their bathrooms are remodeled for green living.

Hotels see green in green bathroom remodeling. Whether the owners of hotels or motels believe that the civilities of their hotels have an impact on the environment or not, they see "green" the money savings in water and energy resources.

Green bathroom remodeling save hotels and motels money:

Replace showerheads to save water bills:
During a tight economy, those hotels that are remodeling in order to sell their hotels or add value to their property are discovering that a very inexpensive way to save water in their hotels bathrooms is to replace their shower heads with water saving ones. The performance of a good water head should be the same as a normal shower head. Cheap one dribble water which defeats the whole purpose of water savings.

Replace older toilets with water saving toilets:
There have been a lot of advancement in the choice of toilets that save water. You can choose a pressurized toilet which fits well over where your old toilet sits. Pressurized toilets cost more than their standard counterpart and some people claim that they give some problems. On the other hand, dual flush toilets which are popular in Europe are showing up in more and more hotels bathrooms that are using green remodeling to water in their total bathroom remodeling project. It estimated that in one year, a dual flush toilet will save a family where four people are using the bathroom about 15000 gallons of water.

Hotels bathtub refinishing/tub re-glazing and sink refinishing saves money and the environment:

There are plenty of hotels, retirement homes, nursing homes or bed and breakfast inns that have antique claw foot bathtubs in their bathrooms. Refinishing these antique claw foot bathtubs preserve their beauty, saves hotels plenty of money and benefit's the environment. Sink refinishing saves the landfills and puts some "green" in the pockets of hotel owners. Bathtub refinishing saves bathtubs from going into the landfills while saving hotels over 80% over the cost of replacement. And when hotels add our volume discount, the savings are even bigger. Green bathtub refinishing is green in your bank account.

Hotels green bathroom remodeling uses recycled materials

Just like you find recycled materials that can be used when you remodel other rooms in other parts of the hotel, there are also building materials that are made of recycled materials tile; vanities and flooring. Hotels that use recycled fixtures save money and conserve natural resources.

Not every bathtub refinishing company or even every green bathroom remodeling company or business understands the import of our activities on our environment.

Not many know the fixtures, processes, and proper installation procedures that will save you money, time and the environment.

Energy Performance Certificates

From 2008 the UK will have a regulation governing business property. There will be a certificate required that rates the building dealing with energy management. This will have a huge impact on the business community.

The UK in 2008 will see new regulation being rolled out that will affect all commercial premises. EPCs stands for Energy Performance Certificates and will be required for rental, sale or construction of commercial property.

So each building will be given an energy rating A,B,C,D,E,F,G. Band A should have the lowest fuel bills reflected by being the most energy efficiency. For the higher rating the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions should be lower.

It is thought that currently most UK commercial property will fall into bands D-E for both ratings. Obviously this rating will effect the businesses value on sale or rental achievable. So this will push the business owners' to invest in better energy efficiency throughout as this money spent will be regarded as a potential return on investment. And therefore a positive business action to be undertaken.

Each EPC will last for ten years. The Department of Communities and Local Government (CLG) must measure the effects of EPCs on the business sector. Adjustment may have to be made if it has a damaging effect because of cost in a recession and the ability of the landlord to lease their property easily. This legislation will effect business premises across the range of sizes so nobody will be unaffected by this.

This policy has the added advantage of long term money savings on fuel bills as that it looks like energy demand for the long term will be high due to the UK now having limited resources and the massive demand on oil in the Far East.

40 Percent of the Air You Breathe Comes From the Basement

Homeowners often wonder about what they should be focusing on for low cost projects. Saving money and keeping a sharp focus on "the bare necessities" is important. Another thing most homeowners don't know is that 40% or more of the air you breath originates in your basement. Air filters through the foundation, windows, bulkheads, and other openings to eventually join the rest of the air mass in the home that rises to meet the other floors.

Air purifiers, dehumidifiers, air conditioners and humidifiers can all run less if the basement humidity and moisture levels are under control. This means saving money on electricity and getting better air quality at the same time

Less moisture in the air makes the air easier to move and to handle. Before an AC unit can cool the air, it has to remove the water from it. By removing the water and moisture from the air in the first place, the AC unit will run less and cool more air with ease.

Air purifiers are great, but they too can be working harder than they need too. By filtering the air at the beginning of the Stack Effect (the technical term for the air rising to circulate throughout the home) you can not only remove mold and mildew spores from the air, you can have cleaner air joining the rest of the home. Your air purifier can now help you maintain air freshness in the kitchen or where ever you need it the most with less effort and less energy.

If you're running a dehumidifier on the 1st or 2nd floor, then you really need to focus on the basement. Focusing the use of a dehumidifier in the basement will help the series of units I've already mentioned. By removing the moisture from the air, making it easier to filter, the 1st and 2nd floor units will run less and be more effective, if they're still needed at all.

By upgrading to a higher end model of dehumidifier you can gain the filtration of a HEPA filter (and even different grades of filtration). Depending on the style and company you buy from you can also get the ease of no longer having to empty countless buckets filled with water. These collection bins are not only a pain but are more often than not located next to heating coils in the dehumidifiers, essentially turning that area of the dehumidifier into a humidifier (talk about working harder and walking backwards!).

When talking about necessities focus on the health of your home. Start with the air quality originating in your basement by upgrading your dehumidifier and addressing any excessive moisture and water issues you might find there. By doing this you run fewer powered units less upstairs with better effectiveness for the air in your home.

Contact your local basement waterproofing or air quality company to get started in finding out what you can do with very little money to start improving the air quality in your home!

Residential Solar Power Generators - Why Generators Powered by Solar Energy Are Popular

Residential solar power generators are becoming more and more popular. As individuals struggle to pay their energy bills, the need for alternative energy and fuels are real. Some people are taking it upon themselves to lower their monthly electricity bills and are using alternative means to do so. These devices use the sun to create electricity for one's home. This typically takes the form of solar panels or some other types of power systems. But they all use the sun which is a natural and free resource. The energy that is created is used to fuel all sorts of things such as one's appliances and other equipment, essentially anything that runs on traditional fuels.

Another great advantage of using a residential solar power generator is that once they are installed, they are more or less maintenance free. You will not have to invest a lot of attention in them, which is fantastic especially for persons who are busy and would rather not be bothered with constant repairs.

Solar panels also last for a long time. In fact, they may not have to be replaced for at least 30 years or more. The technology has also improved greatly and they are much more aesthetically pleasing and attractive than they once were. When they were first introduced, they were often bulky and stood out for the wrong reasons. Many people were not interested in utilizing them simply because they were ugly. Today, they blend in much better into one's home and look more natural.

Another benefit of using a residential solar power generator is that it allows individuals to take advantage of free energy from the sun. As a result, this can drastically reduce one's electricity bills. Solar power is also much better for the environment. For those individuals that are environmentally conscious, this is one way to be less damaging to the planet. Persons interested in generating electricity from the sun can find a lot of great resources online. There are even downloadable books that will teach you how to create a generator that is powered by the sun for your own home. For a small fee, you can gain access right away and get started today.

LED - A Power Saver

Recently while doing window shopping from a shopping mall I observed a small kid who was busy looking at the different lights fitted in showroom with a elegant interiors. The way he was smiling I could not resist myself to observe the showroom's lights minutely. It indeed needed appreciation because of the interiors and different shades of lights focusing on the products for display. Somehow, I started counting the number of bulbs utilized in the interiors of the showroom. Imagine my surprise in discovering that the number was 89. Now can you imagine the electricity bill the showroom owner must be receiving against them? My thought process went further about the entire shopping mall which almost has 65 different brand showrooms. If each of the showroom consumes so much of electricity then what could be the amount of bill electricity department must be collecting?

While hanging out in a shopping mall we never think about the issue of maintenance of these showrooms. I shared my views with one of my friend who gave me the information about led products which are highly in use by this kind of showroom owners. Led lighting has been successful to bring a revolution in power consumption technology. It has replaced a many of the energy saving lighting products which is commonly in use. It is proved by the authentic survey done by research team all over world that Led lighting saves more than 50% compared to other T8 tube type energy saving products.

Though, the price seems to be little higher compared to other normal products but it is very well helps to reduce power consumption. The salient feature of this powerful lighting is vibration resistance and shock proof. LED has many advantages-low power consumption, long life, small size, and a wide selection of colors and designs. Therefore, all the shopping malls are decorated by wide range of variety from led products. They look flashy and eye catching but at the same time they are biggest energy savers. There are many advantages of Led lights .For instance- the work on very high and low voltages, consumes very less power, it provides bright and cool light. It has long life and it is compact and available in a wide range of variety.

Well, one can definitely save a small amount of money each month through electricity bill by replacing normal tubes to led lights.

Top Ten Reasons to Consider Renewable Energy

During the election, I kept hearing about renewable energy. In today's economy, people are looking for ways to cut cost out of their budget. I am too, so I started thinking - Renewable Energy - what a concept!

I have trimmed back on my telephone service to the bare minimum, saving $40 a month. I cut my trash bill by $26 a month, by taking my trash to a dumpster at the local gas station for $2 a bag. Now for the Biggie... Renewable Energy. I'm in the process of eliminating my electric bill! That alone will save me about $1800 a year. Over the next ten years, I can save $18,000! I will probably save more than that though, because that's figuring it at today's rates.

These are the reasons that I came up with. You may come up with even more.

1. The obvious one will be that I won't have to pay for electricity any longer... Instead, the power company will pay me, if I produce more than I can use, I can sell it to the electric company. That will be too Kool - getting a check, rather than sending one!

2. I found out that it won't cost me an arm and a leg, like I originally thought it would. I can actually build it myself for around $200

3. The time is right. The economy worldwide is in a heap of trouble. By making my own electric, I won't have to rely on others.

4. With the ever-growing shortage on fossil fuels, I'm not waiting around for someone to tell me 'Sorry We Ran Out', so I figure now's as good a time as any.

5. I looked into it and found out that it's not hard to do. If I create renewable energy, than anybody can!

6. This is great for our environment and our children and grand children will thank us for it. There may be some gas left when they reach driving age! Knowing that I am doing my part to conserve our planet feels great!

7. When I can make renewable power (my own electricity) for less than $200, I would be foolish not to!

8. I will be able to spend the money that I save on more important things, like food, making my mortgage payment, and other things I might need.

9. I won't have to scramble any more during 'Power Outages' - I can be warm and comfortable.

10. When I install my renewable energy system in my home I will increase the value of my home by thousands! Can you imagine telling a potential buyer - Oh by the way, you won't have an electric bill if you buy my house!

I always sit down and make a list of the pro's and con's, before I do something. I really can't find any con's in this one though. The only one I had in the beginning was the initial cost, and I found a way around that. After making my list, I decided that there is definitely a huge incentive to get started right away.

After making my list and checking it twice. I found a way to save a fortune and accomplish my goal of cutting $1800 a year out of my budget. That extra money will sure come in handy. You can do it too, unless you like forking out for electric bills every month - for the rest of your life! Why not start saving today.
